Going Green
There is greater evidence everyday to support the claim that exposure to toxic chemicals, even for short periods of time, can have serious negative impacts on our health and the health of the planet. An earth friendly philosophy to “do no harm” is behind all we do at Wood & Barrel Co.
Almost 95% of the materials used in the fabrication of our furniture are reclaimed, renewable and repurposed. We do our best to utilize every part of our reclaimed barrels. All of the coatings used to protect and beautify our furniture are 100% non-toxic and emit zero VOC’s.
Giving Back
As the father of a daughter suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, Wegener’s Granulomatosis, company founder Tony Derricotte is committed to contributing 10% of Wood and Barrel’s net profits to research and education in the area of childhood autoimmune diseases. Please come join the fight!
Workmanship
Wood & Barrel Co. believes in providing it’s customers with heirloom quality furniture that is built to last a lifetime. All of our furniture is built using reclaimed French or American White Oak that is nearly one inch thick. Our signature chairs measure three feet across and are unusually comfortable.
Each table and chair is made up of individual staves from a single barrel. Subtle variations in the color, size, curvature and grain of each barrel means that no two pieces of furniture will be exactly alike. Each barrel stave is individually sanded and shaped to bring out the depth and rustic beauty of the wood.
Our solid colored furniture is protected with non toxic resin based finishes, or traditional milk paints, tinted with all natural earth pigments. Each piece of furniture is carefully hand assembled using the highest quality weather resistant hardware.

Care and Maintenance
All outdoor furniture will weather and require maintenance when exposed to the elements, however, at Wood & Barrel Co. our eco-friendly finishes are extremely resilient and easy to maintain. For most finishes a small amount of sanding and a quick touch up coat of our recommended finishes will restore your furniture to it’s original condition. Furniture that is stained and protected by a clear finish will be susceptible to the bleaching effects of direct sunlight. If exposure to long term extreme weather is expected, especially snow, we recommend covering or seasonal storage.
